Eco Building

What does it mean to be a sustainable builder?

Green building. It refers to both the structure as well as environmentally responsible and resource-efficient practices.  This is done throughout a building’s life cycle, including siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition.

At CHIZLD, we take age-old building practices, such as using clay, straw, and sand for plaster, or using reclaimed timber and wood for post and beam structures.  We marry these practices with modern technology, such as reclaimed denim insulation, solar and geothermal heating and cooling, passive home design, etc.  We take pride in being environmentally conscious in our building practices, right down to recycling!
